Subsidy Scanner

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026. This policy may be updated from time to time.

1. What Subsidy Scanner is

Subsidy Scanner is a grant discovery platform. We aggregate publicly available information about UK grants, subsidies, and funding schemes from government websites and present it in a searchable format with personalised matching.

We are not financial advisors. Subsidy Scanner does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. The information on this platform is for general guidance only. Always verify grant details with the original source and seek professional advice where appropriate.

2. Grant information accuracy

Grant information on Subsidy Scanner is sourced from official government websites including GOV.UK, Innovate UK, Scottish Enterprise, Business Wales, local Growth Hubs, and other public bodies. We use automated scrapers and AI to extract and structure this data.

While we verify information regularly and display the date each grant was last checked, we cannot guarantee that all information is current, complete, or error-free. Grant programmes may change their terms, close early, or update eligibility criteria without notice.

Always check the original source before applying for any grant. Every grant page on Subsidy Scanner includes a link to the original source.

3. No guarantee of eligibility or success

Our matching engine scores grants based on the business profile you provide. A high match score means the grant appears relevant to your business type, sector, region, and size — it does not mean you are eligible or will be successful.

Grant decisions are made entirely by the issuing body. Subsidy Scanner has no involvement in the application or decision process.

4. Your account

To create an account you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your password secure
  • Not share your account with others

You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at michaelbucketman@gmail.com.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate business information in your profile
  • Verify grant eligibility and terms directly with the issuing body before applying
  • Comply with the terms of any grant you apply for
  • Not use the platform to scrape data, overload our servers, or interfere with other users
  • Not attempt to access admin areas or other users' accounts

6. Subscriptions and billing

Free tier

Browsing grants and creating an account is free. Free users can view all grants and receive weekly email digests.

Paid plans

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Business) offer additional features including real-time alerts, daily digests, and priority support. Prices are displayed on our pricing page.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. After cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. Your account reverts to the free tier after that.

Cooling-off period

Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to cancel a digital subscription within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided you have not used the paid service. If you have accessed paid features during the 14-day period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service used.

Refunds

Outside the 14-day cooling-off period, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us and we will investigate.

7. Intellectual property

The Subsidy Scanner platform, including its design, code, matching algorithms, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

Grant information displayed on the platform is sourced from public government websites and remains in the public domain. We do not claim ownership of government grant data.

8. Data usage

The aggregated grant database on Subsidy Scanner is protected under the UK Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997. Our compilation of grant information represents substantial investment in collection, verification, and structuring.

You may not:

  • Use automated scraping, crawling, bots, or any systematic method to download, extract, or collect data from this website without our prior written consent
  • Redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit the compiled grant data in any form, including via APIs, datasets, competing services, or derivative works
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or other technical measures designed to protect our data

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination, blocking of access, and legal action to recover damages and enforce our database rights.

What this does not restrict:normal personal use of the service for finding grants for your business, or accessing the original government sources directly. Each grant page links to its original source — you are always free to visit those sites directly.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Subsidy Scanner and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss arising from reliance on grant information displayed on the platform
  • Failed or unsuccessful grant applications
  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated grant data from third-party sources
  • Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss
  • Any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, use the platform to scrape or redistribute data at scale, or engage in activity that harms the service or other users.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
